Customers like the print quality of the thermoplastic filament. They mention that it prints like a dream, flawlessly, and pretty well out of the box. They also say it's easy to use and makes great parts. Some say it prints fantastically and has reasonable strength to weight.
"...Prints great, it's strong, nice and clean filament, and I have found one speck of impurity in about 5 of my last spools" Read more
"...all, the printer does a really nice job for the price, and is great for beginners (like me) once you figure out the software issues." Read more
"Printed great right out of the box with no drying involved but your milage may vary. Sometimes you just have to dry the filament first...." Read more
"...Printing great with nearly the default settings in Cura, I didn't change the retraction to 1mm for my direct drive to prevent clogging...." Read more
Customers like the color of the thermoplastic filament. They say it's a beautiful color, with a strong shade of purple and a magenta/pink hue in the mix. Some say it holds color much better than expected, and prints very well.
"This is a very easy to use printing filament and the results have a pleasing, color which changes subtly depending on the lighting angle...." Read more
"color is awesome" Read more
"...Color was very good and bed adhesion was just fine.I gave this 4 stars primarily because my layer-to-layer strength was just OK...." Read more
"The final product looks great, well worth it." Read more
Customers like the finish of the thermoplastic filament. They say it has a beautiful sheen and texture. Some customers also mention that it prints fast and smooth.
"...The black arrived super glossy.. but oh how I struggled to make it stick, as this was only my 2nd time to work with PETG...." Read more
"...Sometimes you just have to dry the filament first. Super smooth print surface on my Bambu X1C. Highly recommended." Read more
"Loved the print. The vase is a bit rough but it was due to nozzle needing to be changed. Ordered 2nd one after liking the first so much!" Read more
"...No stringing or warp/shrinking at all, smooth and perfect threads with .18 layer height and slowed down a bit like 100ms outer wall...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the quality of the thermoplastic filament. Some mention that they are impressed with the quality, it's strong and consistent. However, others say that it warps like ABS, brittle like expired PLA, and doesn't do well with making supports. They also have had some failures like cracking along layer lines.
"...Prints great, it's strong, nice and clean filament, and I have found one speck of impurity in about 5 of my last spools" Read more
"...The box was in great shape, sturdy, and had great information on it. The reel was packed in a nice tight un-resealable bag...." Read more
"Prints alright, not quite as good as polymaker. Maybe I just need to tune it better." Read more
"...Great filament. Prints like a dream. First photo is a test print showing the color. Second is a lampshade 180mm dia...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the adhesion of the thermoplastic filament. Some mention that the layer adhession after that was perfect, while others say that it's poor.
"...The filament sticks well at 80c and hasn't warped on me yet." Read more
"I love the color... but I found the adhesion poor... Burned through a lot of filament with parts lifting and having to re-do...." Read more
"...Layer adhesion is great so if you have a low detail part, this is a cheaper alternative to other ASA. In fact I have trouble removing supports...." Read more
"...The only thing I ran into was getting no adhesion on a textured PEI plate...." Read more
Customers have mixed opinions about the performance of the thermoplastic filament. Some mention that it works well, while others say that it doesn't work well.
"This has AMAZING color. It was pretty standard PETG and works best with detailed geometry to show off your color shifts...." Read more
"...It works well with salt remelting (the surface finish will be much different than stock, very matte and much lighter) and acetone smoothing." Read more
"...is down a ton, the sheen is super glossy now, and the supports dont work nearly as well...." Read more
"...While the filament works well in my printer, the filament is not precisely or neatly wound on the spool. See the overlaps in the photo...." Read more
Customers are mixed about the warping of the thermoplastic filament. Some mention that it has little warping and stringing, while others say that it can warp and is brittle.
"...Prints come out beautiful and event better than some of my PLA. No stringing or warp/shrinking at all, smooth and perfect threads with .18 layer..." Read more
"...(if you stand it straight up with the finger buttons in the air) did warp a little...." Read more
"...It prints as easy as PLA with dimensional consistency and really no warping. For good or bad, it does seem to have a slightly lower melting point...." Read more
"...I prefer (Prusament), there was a lot more odor and some noticeable warping on a part I hadn't expect would suffer from that...." Read more
Customers are dissatisfied with the tangles of the thermoplastic filament. They mention that it oozes, pops, and sputters out of the nozzle. The filament is wound poorly and frequently gets bound up. Prints fail due to the spool not being spooled properly, and the filament is tangled and hooked around itself. Some customers also mention that the quality of the filament was not great.
"...No matter what temp I tried this filament would not print or would clog the extruder...." Read more
"...It often gets tangled and ruins prints. The color was also a bit darker than expected and didn't provide as much color shift as I had hoped." Read more
"...While the filament works well in my printer, the filament is not precisely or neatly wound on the spool. See the overlaps in the photo...." Read more

Perfectly printed at nozzle 240C, Bed 80C, 15% Fan, slow speed 35% and the addition of painters tape then glue stick to my printer bed and perfection! No lines, the filament just melted into the next line beautifully. Can’t wait to do more.
I was afraid to use a glue stick on my PC sheet, as I wasn’t sure how compatible it was. But I’d bet a glass bed with adhesive would work very well, just didn’t want to mess with changing it out every time I switched filament types. Anyway… a slow 7 hours later

The test prints using the supplied PLA and built in parts went very well.
My issues come down to software. Flashforge documentation recommends the Orca Slice software, which seems to be included on a USB stick along with the configuration file that is supposed to imported once the software is installed.
Of course no USB stick, so I had to find the software on the mfg website, however no configuration file to be found, so I can only print with PLA for the time being. Sent an email to Flashforge asking for the config file, but no response as of yet.
The nice thing about the Orca Slice is that it does not have to connected to the printer to be able to create a gcode file, which is great as my machine not in a place that can be directly connected to a PC.
The reason I mention this is that the other recommended (on Flash Forge's website) slicing option is Flashpoint 5, which seems to be very useful, as long as you can connect directly to the 3d printer.
All in all, the printer does a really nice job for the price, and is great for beginners (like me) once you figure out the software issues.

This was my first ASA/ABS print ever. There was a minor smell printing on my Bambu X1C carbon, and I did run the exhaust fan with the carbon filter for a good 10 minutes before pulling it off, but overall nothing too crazy like the horror stories I had heard.
The color came out exactly like the pictures, which most of Flashforge's filament pictures do unlike competitors, so I was very happy that my Bambu Lab mouse came out looking like it did.
The only thing I will say is at the end of the print the bottom of the mouse (if you stand it straight up with the finger buttons in the air) did warp a little. It looked like that happened after I took it off the build plate which is a new one on me. This may be normal for ASA, or maybe I should have let it sit on the build plate longer and cool down (again I did wait 10 minutes before taking it off to vent and clean some of the fumes).
Anyway I wouldn't hesitate to buy another ASA firmament from Flashforge.

I do love the color though. It is what comes with the 5M so I wanted to try the PETG in the same color to print out some enclosure parts. I ran out since I had to reprint... Not sure I would re-buy.

I would definitely recommend this ASA and will buy it again. More colours would be nice but I mostly use black and white anyways.
